Jonah’s Cost For Running
Let us muse again today from Jonah 1:3 and his cost for running. The text says he paid the fare thereof. When Jonah went to the shipping office to pay the dock master the fare, there was no way the dock master could tell him the true cost. When one involves himself in the things that are disobedient to God only time can tell us the true cost. In verse five Jonah was sound asleep thinking he was riding away from God. If he could’ve seen through the planks of wood and known that swimming along side was God’s provision of a ride back to where he needed to be it would have brought great fear to his heart. Let us remember our disobedience is a sin and will cost us more than we want to pay.
