Jonah’s Conclusion From Running

Let us in muse today from Jonah chapter 1 and his conclusion from running. We are told in verse three that Jonah went down to Joppa. In verse three we are told that he went down into the ship. In verse five we are told that Jonah went down deep into the ship. In verse 15 the word down is not used but certainly implied when they threw him down into the sea and then down into a great fish. There is only one conclusion to be gained from going away from God’s presence and that is you’re going down. The fearful thing is that there is no bottom to how far you can go down. What is one to do if he senses he is going down? He must raise the white flag and plea for mercy. Remember when nothing else could help His love lifted me.
