The Mercy Of Repetition

Let us muse today from Jonah 3:1 and the thought of the mercy of repetition. We are told that the word of the Lord came unto Jonah. I just stand amazed when God speaks to me from His word. He is not obligated by no means. The great truth of mercy is seen when we are told the word has come for the second time to Jonah. The Lord doesn’t have to speak to us once, but to tell us twice to do something, that my friend is mercy in repetitious form. The mercy of God is when he withholds from us what we deserve. Jonah deserved to drown in the sea because of his disobedient, but God instead showed him mercy and spoke to him again.
