Micah’s Message

Let us begin to muse today from Micah 1: 1-5 and one of  Micah’s three  messages for Judah. The first message I would entitle a perception of doom. In verses one through five of this message I see a declaration of doom. Micah says that God steps from the edge of His holy temple in verse two and comes as a judge, jury, witness, and executioner. In verse three we are told that God comes forth . The phrase means to come to do battle. God opens the court room and declares war on Judah. He points a finger at His two enemies Samaria the great capital of the North and Jerusalem the great capital of Judah in the South. It seems like these two divided kingdoms never learned, but continue to repeat their history. How long before we as a nation, individual, or church learn that God is a jealous God and will not share us with the world. Micah has eyed doom on  the horizon. Do you and I have enough spiritual sense to see that doom is headed our way?
