Let us muse today from Micah 2:8-11 and a point from Micah’s  sermon I have entitled a perception of doom. We are looking at a declaration of deeds from this sermon. We have looked at the sin of being a stealer and silencer so far. Today we want to look at the sin of being a scorner. In verses 8-9 he sees these people as enemies who have declared war on God because of their treatment of the poor. In verse 11 the word used spirit is our word wind. Micah says the false prophets of that day were preaching like bags of wind and telling lies. Their message was equal with that of one drunk on wine and strong drink. I wonder if much of the preaching of our day seems to our Lord like men who are windbags and He can tell little difference in what they are saying in the pulpit and what they’re saying down at the local pub.
