Let us muse today from Micah 5:1-5a and a promise given from Micah’s sermon on the point we entitled a Redeemer is coming. The promise is that of the King. There will be a King to arise from Bethlehem Ephrata. This is a place well-known to Israel. Rachel Jacob’s favorite wife is buried there. Ruth met Boaz the kinsman Redeemer there. David Israel’s greatest son was born there. Instead of repenting of their sins and looking for the Messiah King to come from Bethlehem they went on their way in darkness. When the Lord tells us ahead of time what is to happen it is not for entertainment to the curious, but it is encouragement for the serious. So much today that is of a warning to us  that a King is coming, but we seem to just go on as if it will never happen. Instead we should keep our eyes on the sky for our Redeemer draweth nigh.
