The Pattern Of The Fall
Let us begin to muse today from Nahum 2:1-4. We have looked thus far at the preface of favour and a prediction of the fall. Today let us begin to examine the pattern of the fall. In verse one of our text you can almost hear the cries of the Army captains in Nineveh preparing the troops for a great battle. In 612 BC the Meades and the Babylonians joined forces and invaded Nineveh. God assures the nation of Israel in verse two that victory over Nineveh is sure. In verse three shortly after entering the city the shields and clothing of the soldiers are red with blood. The chariots of the conquering army in verse four cannot be stop. All of this fall is brought about because God will judge his enemies.
