Unrighteous Idolatry

Let us muse again today from Nahum 3:4-7 and the second reason why Nineveh fail. We have already looked at their unbridled depraivity. Today we noticed a second reason for their fall was unrighteous idolatry. Nineveh’s chief deity was Ishtar the  goddess of sexual lust and passion. They had temple prostitutes and sex was their worship. God told them in verses 4-5 that he would cause them to be naked, vile and abominable before their enemies while they looked on. Are you seeing any of these reasons for their fall in our nation? You don’t have to look far to see unbridled depravity and unrighteous idolatry.
