Let us muse today from  Nahum 3:9-19 an another of the reasons for Nineveh’s fall. We have looked at unbridled  depravity and unrighteous idolatry. Today I draw our attention to ungodly pride. The Lord gives the example in verses 9-11 of the Egyptians. They thought no man could conquer them yet they fail. They are told  in verse 12 their stronghold would be like ripe figs and  fall into the mouth of their enemies. The Lord told them in verses 15-17 the enemy will come in like a swarm of insects and leave nothing when they are done. God said through Nahum  verses 18-19 that because of your pride you will be like sheep without a shepherd. God will put a wound that cannot be healed upon you and all that hear it will clap their hands. Nahum ends his book with the question which  is, on whom hath not thy wickedness poured continually? Do we think God will ignore and wink at our wickedness in America forever?
