The Second Woe

Let us muse today from Habakkuk 2:9 and a section I have entitled the prophet’s awaiting. God here gives the prophet 3 assignments the second of which is to trust the word. He mentions five woes that keeps the sinner from trusting the word of God the second of which is mentioned in 2:9. Because of covetousness most of what the Babylonian people own has been gotten by stealing and plundering others. Let us be careful if what we own has been gotten by the least bit of deception. It will kill a child like trust in the word. When there is no trust in the word we have a soul without a compass.
