The Final Summit

Let us muse today from a final verse in Habakkuk 3: 19 and a section I have called the prophet’s adoration. While praying and adoring the Lord the prophet begins to practice God’s providence. He has come in 1:1 from a great burden to 3:19 to the final summit mountaintop place. He finds through providence that God is our strength and we have been given hinds feet like a mountain goat. We can now walk upon the steep places with no fear or the danger of falling. Habakkuk ends this chapter, this prayer, and this Psalm by handing it to  the chief singer and maybe saying let’s sing this one next Lord’s Day.
