The Day Of The Lord

Let us look a little closer at the theme of Zephaniah which is the day of the Lord. This is a phrase which does not find its way into our past, present, or future thoughts. It is a phrase that reminds us of pending judgment. A famous Latin song of medieval days went like this, Day of wrath! O day of mourning!. Heav’n and Earth in ashes burning! O  what fear  man’s bosom rendeth. When from heav’n the judge desendeth. On whose Sentence all dependeth. I wonder how the congregation would accept the singing of that song today.
