Philistia The Western Point

Let us muse today from Zephaniah 2: 4-7 and the nation of Philistia as the Western point of the compass. This was the arch enemy of Judah. This was the nation were Goliath lived. They often invaded Judah, captured the people, and sold them as slaves to other nations. Zephaniah said that one day this highly populated nation will be emptied and become a place for shepherds to feed their flock. Their coastal cities which were great places of wealth will lie desolate. Nebuchadnezzar conquered Philistia and brought it down. Zephaniah tells us that the Jews would dwell here in the kingdom age. Those who curse Israel shall be cursed.
