Assyria The North Point

Let us muse today from Zephaniah 2: 13-15 and the effect of the day of the Lord on the Gentile nations. We look today at Assyria and her capital city of Nineveh. The Lord spared her through the preaching of Jonah. In verse 15 we are told she later became careless in her walk with God. They even said in their heart I am and besides us there is none else. In Zephaniah’s day she became devastated and grazing ground for the animals. Let it be another warning to us it is a fearful thing to stand against Israel, they will suffer the greater condemnation on the day of the Lord.
