The Testimony Of Rebuilding

Let us muse today from Haggai 1:1b and a section I have entitled a call to rebuild. In our text today we find a testimony of rebuilding. Haggai address his testimony of rebuilding to  Zerubbabel whose name means born in Babylon. He was the governor or political leader of the promised land. Joshua  was the high priest and the son of the high priest who was the religious leader when Israel fell into captivity. Haggai’s name means festive or one who sows in tears that he might reap in joy. He is probably an old prophet with a burden heart writing to a couple of permanent old dead fixtures in the promised land about getting closer to God. Sounds like a Baptist church where the pastor spends much of his time trying to get folks to continue who have never commenced.
