The Authority Of All Authorities
We have been musing in I Thessalonians chapter 3 on the subject of waiting for our King with authority. Today we look at verse 13 where we find the authority of all authorities. While we wait let us think on the purpose of His authority. His desire is to stablish us which means, to turn resolutely in one fixed direction. He is going to make us holy and without blame. This is the last work of our perfecting into His likeness. We will be just like Him without spot, wrinkle, or sin. That my friend is more than this little brain can take in. We are told of the presence of His authority. In this verse God the Father and God the Son are mentioned in the same sentence. This cannot be done in the Greek unless, both are equal, the same, and one. When we see Him face to face we will see the three in one and we will be in them, they in us, and we all will be one, as they are. That blows my mind! In verse 13c I find the people of His authority. When He comes, He will bring all the saints who have died in Christ since Adam. It will be a number no man can add up. We will see our loved ones again, “WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BE WHEN MY JESUS I WILL SEE”. Let us think upon these things while we wait for King.
