The Flying Roll

Let us muse today from Zechariah 5:1-4 and the eighth of Zecharias’ 10 visions. I will call this one the vision of the flying roll. The dimensions of this what we would call a flying scroll is the same as the overall dimensions of the tabernacle. This scroll would speak of the word of God. It flies about pronouncing a curse. There is a curse in our text from each tablet of the law. The curse against a man in the picture of a thief. Then there is a curse against swearing and a lack of reverence for God. Let us remember the law can only curse but it works as a schoolmaster to lead us to the incarnate Word who is Christ.
