Peaceful Rest

Let us muse today from the storm in Mark 4:33-41 under the heading of the power is bestowed for all storms. I want to share one last thought on the pronouncement of peace. The Lord said He rebuked the wind. The word rebuke means to charge, forbid. or command. The phrase peace be still would carry with it two hand motions for us, one being a finger over the mouth while making the sound shhhhh. The second is the finger across the neck while saying cut it. Our Lord has created us for rest. We were created on the 6th day which was Friday afternoon about quitting time. The first thing the Lord wanted us to do was rest.
