Let The Ship Rock

Let us look at a third attitude displayed by Paul in the storm of Acts 27. It is the attitude of let the ship rock. I see first in our text the collapse of the ship. When one tries to keep the ship afloat by a self effort he will find it is futile as well as dangerous. In Acts 27:17 they tried to undergird the ship and carry it but found themselves in quick sand. In 27:18-19 they began to throw the cargo over board but it was all futile for in verse 41-44 they ran aground upon the rocks. In verse 40 they did the best thing anyone can do that is to commit themselves to the sea and cry out to the Savior the captain of our ship let the ship rock I believe God.
