The Lessons Of Hope From Suffering
Let us continue to muse from Romans 8 on Possessing on Position. We have been looking at Hope Established. Oh, how suffering can cause us to be without hope. We have found in our study that God meant suffering to bring hope and not take it away. Today let us muse on the Lessons of Hope. I find in verse 24 the lesson of faith. We are told that we are saved by hope and kept by hope. We cannot see hope, we must believe it by faith. Hope is confident expectation. I, by the gift of faith, believe and lean upon Him with the confident expectation that the unseen and the unknown are all in His hands. In verse 25 there is the lesson of sight. We are told that as we patiently wait, hope will one day give way to reality. ‘Often times the day seems long. Our trials hard to bear. We are tempted to complain, murmur, and despair. But Christ will soon appear, catch His bride away. When we see Christ, one glimpse of His dear face all sorrows will erase, so bravely run the race, till we see Christ’. He is our hope and I cannot wait to see my hope.
