Warning Of Sifting

Let us muse today from Luke 22:31 and Peter’s perception problem. We are looking in this text at Peter’s lack of dependability and a warning of sifting. Our Lord tells Peter that Satan has desired to have him for sifting. I thought it was interesting that our Lord never says He would stop him. When wheat is sifted it is a part of the winnowing process to remove the outside shell of the chaff to reveal the true wheat. Let us see by faith that a lot of our troubles are nothing more than God giving us to Satan for sifting purposes to remove the temporal which is us to reveal the eternal which is Christ Himself.
