Speech Of Denial

Let us muse again today from John 18:17-27 and Peter’s perception problem. We are looking at Peter’s lonely denial and the speech of denial. We see so much of ourselves in Peter’s life, which was a life filled with sight living. I noticed in verse 18 and 25 Peter is warming himself beside the world’s fire. When we find our comfort with the world’s crowd it can be extremely dangerous. It is here that Peter lies three times in verse 17, 25, and 26 when he says he does not know who Jesus is. In verse 27 the cock crows and fulfills Jesus words to Peter. Oh how sight living will often lead to lying and outright denial of who Christ is.
