Peters Lifeless Dedication
Let us muse again today from John 21:1-4 and Peter’s perception problem. This will be a final thought on this subject,on our next blog we will begin a before and after picture of grace from Ephesians 2:1-10. In our text today we find Peter’s lifeless dedication. When one lives by sight you will not live the abundant life. In chapter 20 our Lord comes to the upper room and breathes the Holy Ghost upon His disciples. In chapter 21 Peter’s responds to this by saying I’m going fishing. In an earlier encounter Peter told the Lord he had for sake all to follow Him. In order to go fishing he had to have had a boat. I can just imagine when he started following the Lord he put that boat on saw horses in the backyard just in case he needed it later. The life of sight living very seldom ever burns the bridges of having something you can see to depend on.I would remind us although Peter failed every test the Lord gave in 50 days he will graduate at the head of the class and give the valedictorian address and 3000 will be saved, now that is grace.
