Precious Trials

Let us continue to muse from Peter’s precious pictures in I Peter 1:6-9. The word precious means rare, one-of-a-kind, and a value beyond calculation. I certainly had no problem with Peter putting the word precious and blood together but not precious and trials. The word trials speaks not only of sorrows and heart aches but temptation a solicitation to do evil. Peter says they are precious tailor-made just for the individual and valuable beyond calculation. What a phrase to rest in to know that our Lord has made and is making our trials and temptations precious.
