The Origin Of This Precious Faith

Let us muse today from II Peter 1:1 and Peter’s precious pictures. I am looking today at precious faith and the origin of this faith. Look today with me at the obtaining of origin. Peter says in our text of God’ people that they have obtained like precious faith. The word obtained is in the past tense which tells us something was done by God in the past which guarantees we will do something in the present. The word obtain means to receive a determine allotment by divine decree. This allotment of faith is rare, scarce, uncommon and, a value beyond calculation. Paul tells us in Titus 1:1 that it is the faith of God’s elect. Matthew Henry said there are few with true faith in a sea of professors. The gospel that is being preached by some today will make many church members but few Christians.
