Promise Of Divine Preservation

Let us muse today  from II Peter 1:10 Peter’s precious pictures about the promise of divine habitation. Our text has told us much about what is ours because Christ dwells in us. We see today there is the promise of divine preservation. We are told in verse 10 of a sure call when we are told to make our calling and election sure. This is not the general call everyone gets but the effectual call that only the elect get. We are told in verse 10 of a sure continuance. If we have heard the sure call of election we shall never fall. David Brainerd a few moments before his death asked to be alone. What could such a holy man need to do? He said I want to make my calling and election sure before I meet my Lord.
