Precious Jesus

Let us begin today to look at a last of Peter’s precious pictures in I Peter 2:4-7. I will entitle this one the precious Jesus. In our text Peter mentions Jesus as the precious stone. Why does he mention Him three times? He is precious in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. When I think of Jesus our precious stone my mind quickly goes to these words, rock of ages cleft for me let me hide myself in Thee. Let the water and the blood from Thy wounded side which flowed, be of sin the double cure, save from wrath and make me pure. That my friend is precious.
