The High Priestly Prayer

Let us begin today a journey of musing from John 17. It has been called by some not the Lord’s prayer but the high priestly prayer. It is connected with a portion of Scripture, John 13-17 which make up our Lords last night upon the earth. This section is called the holy of holies in John’s Gospel. Once they leave the upper room, go outside into the night, and before the arrest He offers this prayer. If our Lord’s thoughts in His darkest hour was to turn His attention to acknowledging the Father how much more should we do the same.
