The Exaltation Of This Person
Let us continue to muse from Paul’s pattern for prison living. In Philippians 2:9 I find the exaltation of this person. Because of the obedience of verses 7-8, God hath highly exalted the Son. The phrase highly exalted means to elevate above all others, to raise to the highest position, over, above, and beyond the highest level. God the Father has also given the Son a name that is above every name. The word given means gracious favour. The word name is one of notoriety, authority, and none is like it. It is above all other names in comparison. God never left Him in the cradle subject to His mother, nor on a cross subject to the government, nor in the grave subject to death. Jesus is the sweetest name I know and He is just the same as His lovely name and that is the reason why I love Him so, cause Jesus is the sweetest name I know.
