Musing Through Matthew-John’s Message

Let us muse again today from Matthew 3:1-2 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our text we find a hint of John’s message. As I look at John’s message I am reminded that we should have a similar message. His message was repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. As our Lord’s coming draws near may our message be repent or perish, turn or burn. The word repent means to have a change of mind or 180° turn from sin. May I, may you put away, turn from with disgust anything that would grieve His Holy Spirit.
