Musing Through Matthew-Heaven Opened Unto Him

Let us muse again today from Matthew 3:16-17 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our text for today we are drawn to the phrase and the heavens were opened unto Him. It is clear the world and ministry were opening before Him but great  was the fact that the heaven was opened unto Him. In this opening there are two confirmations given. One is the word from the Father saying this is My beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased. There was also the confession of the anointing of the Holy Ghost when the dove of heaven came down and lit upon Him. Throughout His earthly ministry He always looked to the heavens for His strength. May we to be sure of these two confirmations a word from God and the anointing  of the Holy Ghost before we embark upon doing anything in this world that will affect time and eternity.
