Musng Through Matthew- The Salt Likeness

Let us muse today from Matthew 5:13 and the theme of Jesus the King. Today I draw our attention to the salt likeness. Salt is a preservative. Our Lord has spread His children around the world as a preserving against sin. If they were to be taken way the world would putrefy. This losing of savor in the salt is not an indication of one losing their salvation that is utter nonsense. It does speak of the salty Christian who is no longer full of grace and truth. In this condition one is not preserving all our persevering in his walk with the Lord. Our text tells us one in this state is good for nothing but to be cast out and trodden under the foot of the world. Let us examine our saltines this day.
