Musing Through Matthew-The Act And The Thought Of Adultery

Let us muse again today from Matthew 5:27-28 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our text today we are confronted with the thought of Christ righteousness exceeding that of the legalist. Jesus speaks today of the act and the thought of adultery. God’s people in general would certainly condemn the act of adultery  but here our Lord says  the man who looks upon a woman with a lustful thought has committed adultery already in his heart. Oh how this would drive us to set a guard over our minds and to keep our eyes from wondering. What man who lives today has not fallen into this sin? May I passionately desire today to have as my goal to let this mind be in me which was also in Christ Jesus our Lord.
