Musing Through Matthew-Be Not Offended

Let us muse again today from Matthew 11:6 and the theme of Jesus the king. In our study for today we find the encouragement to be not offended. I feel John while in prison has stumbled but has not fallen. It is very easy to think oneself as being deserted or alone when expectations do not turn out as planned. Our Lord’s admonition to John is blessed is the man that is not offended in me. The word blessed is happy in the plural. The last of the phrase is blessed is the man who does not get upset at the way I run my business. The Old Testament writers said it best when he said my expectations or from the Lord. Whatever happens that’s what I was expecting and because of that I will never be disappointed.
