Musing Through Matthew-Lessons In Rest

Let us muse again today from Matthew 11:29-30 and the theme of Jesus the king.In our text today we find the lessons of rest. In our verse yesterday we found rest by faith in Jesus today we find rest in obedience to Jesus. We are to take His yoke upon us.  I realize many think that this is a two yoke hook up. Jesus an I pull 50-50 but that is wrong.In entering into this rest we find only one hook up.If you’re going to pull our Lord will watch the mess you make, or you can watch Him carry all the load. In this yoke of His we will learn much about the meek and lowly one. One who is all-powerful but it is a controlled power. We will find another rest in verse 30 for our souls. The words easy yoke and light burden are our words for recreation or vacation. When we enter into the second phase of  this rest in our darkest hour when yoked with Him it will seem like a time of vacation.
