Musing Through Matthew-Mercy Over Sacrifice2

Let us muse again today from Matthew 12:7 and the theme of Jesus the king. I see in our study today a thought on mercy over sacrifice. Our Lord brings up the text of Hosea 6:6  and showing mercy over sacrifice. He asked them if they understood the meaning of this verse. How often we want to hold the letter of the law and give no wiggle room for mercy. The thought of David eating the show bread caused the legalistic to have them rather starve as well as Jesus  disciples than pluck some ears of corn on the Sabbath. Let us be careful that our convictions give no wiggle room for mercy by the merciful Christ.
