Musing Through Matthew- The Sower Parable

Let us muse again today from Matthew 13:3 and the theme of Jesus the king. Our Lord is now in a boat using it as a pulpit to preach to those standing on the shore. His first sermon is on the sower parable. A parable is an earthly message with a heavenly meaning. What a parable this is full of heavenly meaning. Jesus said, behold a sower went forth to sow. Our Lord sees Himself as the sower who went forth. He went forth from His Father to dwell in human flesh. His job while here was to sow His Father’s word. Now that He is gone He looks for us to become sowers in His place.
