Musing Through Matthew- John’s Disciples

Let us muse again today from Matthew 14:12 and the theme of Jesus the king. In our verse for study today we have a word about John’s disciples. They hear their beloved teacher is dead and they come and get the body and bury it. I notice they didn’t say they buried John but just the body, the house he lived in. It will soon be testified to by Herod that though John be dead he yet speaks. When they had done with the burial they went and told Jesus. What better place to go when trouble and sorrow come, but into the presence of the one who is touch with the feelings of our infirmities.
