Jezebel At Thyatira

In verse 20 we meditate on our Lord’s pointed words to the church at Thyatira. There is one here who as a daughter emulates her Old Testament mother, Jezebel. She is teaching and seducing in the church at Thyatira. She seeks to get the people to  commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. This spirit still lives in our churches today. The seducing spirit makes us desire to live according to the flesh, pay homage to the world, and find our security in our own financial abilities. May we again throw Jezebel from the windows of our church in hope that the dogs of this world will carry her and her spirit down the road.
