Promises To The Church At Sardis

Let us complete our meditation on the church at Sardis by looking at Revelation 3:5-6. There some great promises made to the church here. There is the promise of clothing. To him that overcometh he will be clothed with white raiment. This raiment is the righteousness of Christ. We will be literally clothed with Christ. There is also a promise of confession. He confess not to blot their names out of the book of life. How could He, it was written before time began. He also tells them He will confess their name to the Father and before the angels. In verse 6 there is the promise of consideration. We are told if we have an ear we should hear what the Spirit says. Our Lord used ears(plural) in the gospels. It is there we get the ability to hear Him speak to us. In this text there is one ear, telling us if we are a member of the true church we will give Christ our undivided attention. Lord, let me live in the realm of hearing your promises. They are heavens cashable bank notes.
