Musing through Matthew – Doubt Feeding Of The 4000

Let us muse again today from Matthew 15: 32-33Tand the theme of Jesus The King. In our text today we find doubts among the disciples about the feeding of the 4000. Jesus in His compassion is not only concerned about spiritual needs but also physical needs. These folks haven’t eaten in three days and our Lord doesn’t want them to faint on their way home. The disciples said in great doubt where would we find enough bread to feed this crowd. They used the pronoun we foolishly including themselves with Jesus to have the ability to feed this crowd. The great truth here is this comes after the feeding of the 5000. This will be a feeding of less people with more provisions to accomplish it. “Compassion is the spring which sets His power in motion.” (Spurgeon) Oh how our Lord supplies all the needs of those who have a craving for Him.
