Musing Through Matthew – The Worth Of A Man’s Soul

Let us Muse again today from Matthew 16: 26 the theme of Jesus The King. In our text for today we were asked to consider the worth of a man’s soul. In the center of our text we are given a bases of consideration with the statement and lose his own soul. This speaks of one dying and going to hell. All that we do in life must be done in light of where we are going after death. The first phrase we are given the blessing of consideration. Suppose we gain all of the world. Worlds upon worlds and all the riches therein and lose your own soul, what good is that to us. Then the last statement is the barter of consideration what shall we give in exchange for our soul. We are not in a position to barter to keep our soul out of Hell. The price has already been paid by the body and blood of Jesus. When we embrace that great truth as our own the riches of the world cannot be compared to the richest of the world to come.
