Musing through Matthew – The Transfiguration

Let us muse today from Matthew 17: 1-2 and the theme of Jesus The King. In our study for today we see a great truth about Christ Transfiguration. We are told that He took the inner circle Peter, James, and John with Him. They went up into a high mountain, other gospels said they went to pray. We have been studying that Jesus is the king. He is praying His kinhship glory issues out of Him. The word transfigure means to metamorphose, inside becomes the outside. His face was like a sun and rainment like lightning. Oh how this may have led John later to write and the word became flesh and tabernacle among us and we beheld His glory the glory of the only begotten of the Father full of Grace and truth. I cannot imagine what it will be like to see Him in heaven, we will certainly need glorified bodies to behold such glory. Just think for us that beholding could be today.
