I want to say there will be much even in the early part of the year to get us off course, but I say to us, just walk on. In this condemned walk we are reminded in Ephesians 2:2, Where in times ye walked according to the course of this world… O how many or walking this course today. You may ask what is this course like? I find in 2:1 it is a dead walk. One lost today is dead(a corpse) before the Lord no ability to come. A man once told me he didn’t think man was as dead as I preached him. I asked how dead is a corpse? The decision based gospel will not raise a corpse from the course of this world. I find in 2:2 it is a directed walk. One who is lost today operates totally under satan’s control. In 2:4 it is a dreadful walk. It will end as children of wrath. I see good news in our text with the words “But God”. I love it when God buts in. He comes with his rich mercy and quickens those dead in sin and makes them a child of grace.
