{"id":131,"date":"2009-01-03T13:36:22","date_gmt":"2009-01-03T13:36:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tomgilliam.wordpress.com\/?p=131"},"modified":"2023-09-01T00:29:47","modified_gmt":"2023-09-01T00:29:47","slug":"hopes-way","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tomgilliam.com\/?p=131","title":{"rendered":"HOPES WAY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Let us ponder Jeremiah 17:5-8 today.\u00a0 The central verse says, &#8220;Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the Lord is.&#8221;\u00a0 In verse 5 we find the <em>transgression of hope<\/em> when we put our trust in a man.\u00a0 Jeremiah says this man is cursed.\u00a0 In verse 7 we find the <em>trust of hope<\/em>.\u00a0 We are told this will be a blessed man which means a joy and happiness not based on outward circumstances.\u00a0 I see in our text the <em>tree of hope<\/em>.\u00a0 Verse 8 tells us that if we put our hope (confident expectations) in the Lord we will be like a tree that never ceases from yielding fruit.\u00a0 I find here the <em>tense of hope<\/em> in the phrase &#8216;hope the LORD in&#8217;.\u00a0 We must have a constant hope in Him.
