Today we will ponder <em>the ordinances of performance<\/em>. In 16a I find <em>the word of the ordinance<\/em>. If we are going to conform to Christ the pattern, we are told there must be a holding forth of the word of life. The phrase holding forth means to retain, to give great heed to, to mark out, and stay upon. I can not call us strongly enough to be people of the word. There must be a \u00a0personal time and family time of taking in and giving out of the word. I see in 16b <em>the worth of the ordinance<\/em>. We will rejoice which means to make a loud boast at the appearing of Christ\u00a0that we\u00a0have run well and finished our course.
