Charles Haddon Spurgeon said, &#8220;If you pray Matthew 6:12 with an unforgiving spirit you have literally signed your death warrant.&#8221; When John Wesley met General Oglethorpe he said to Wesley, &#8220;I never forgive anybody.&#8221; Wesley said to him, &#8220;Sir, I hope you never sin.&#8221; A man once told his Pastor after a bitter divorce, &#8220;I will never forgive her or forget it.&#8221; The Pastor said, &#8220;Dear sir, she is living rent free in your mind.&#8221; Oh, how those we don&#8217;t forgive control us. Another of these quotes is, &#8220;There must be horizontal forgiveness of others before there is vertical forgiveness with Him.&#8221; The last quote is &#8220;When is the last time you said to Him or others &#8216;I am sooooooo sorry for that&#8217;.&#8221; (And name the sin for which you seek forgiveness. <\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In doing this study on forgiveness I ran across five great quotes that speak much of forgiveness.
