We find here he gives thanks for the hope that is laid up for them in Heaven. The word &#8216;<em>hope<\/em>&#8216; here means the confident anticipation and expectation of pleasure. Paul reminds them\u00a0of the fact\u00a0of \u00a0&#8216;it has been laid up&#8217; and\u00a0this\u00a0is one of the causes for his thanksgiving. The phrase &#8216;laid up&#8217; means something that awaits one because it has been reserved\u00a0or appointed for the person. We find it has been personally laid up in Heaven for individuals. This gives a whole new meaning to the words of the Psalmist that said &#8216;at thy right hand are pleasures forever more&#8217;, When is the last time we thought upon what has been laid up for\u00a0those of God&#8217;s people and it causes us to erupt into a prayer of thanksgiving.
