This <em>glorious power<\/em> is evident in the area of our patience. I think of John&#8217;s patience in James when he says &#8216;you have heard of the patience of Job.&#8217; David had great power to take on Goliath but greater still was the patience not to kill Saul when he had the chance. When I think of longsuffering power I think of the suffering of Jeremiah. Patience certainly gives strength for the circumstance of life while longsuffering gives strength to deal with the people we encounter in life. I find in the thought of joyfulness the words of Jesus when He said on the cross &#8216;that it was the joy that was set before Him&#8217;.
