Let us be careful as God&#8217;s people\u00a0\u00a0not to\u00a0stand in one place and become stagnant. Paul warns us to be on guard lest we are<em> beguiled by enticing words<\/em>. The words beguile and entice\u00a0or words of Satan&#8217;s deceptive work. The terms are used by lawyers\u00a0to make a persuasive argument. Satan is a liar and will give us arguments that will lead us away from God. In verse\u00a0five Paul&#8217;s first picture\u00a0of<em> steadfastness<\/em> against Satan\u00a0is a<em> picture of an army<\/em>. The words of<em> order and steadfastness<\/em> are military terms of battle array and demands discipline and obedience. When Satan comes with his deceptions \u00a0may we adhere to Paul&#8217;s words, to endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
